PARSONPOXY SEL-80
Manhole Epoxy Coating
A corrosion resistant epoxy coating to protect
concrete structures against H2S attack.

DESCRIPTION:
PARSONPOXY SEL-80 is a 100% solids, two component High Build epoxy coating designed to be applied over brick, concrete or metal structures or as a topcoat over PARSON MH Liner or CA LINER 100. It provides excellent protection and abrasion resistance for concrete and steel sewage structures such as manholes, wet wells, digesters and clarifiers, along with mixer blades, shafts and other steel machinery components in contact with aggressive liquids. The product may be applied using a regular bristle concrete brush, stiff bristle nylon brush or minimum 68:1 single component airless spray equipment.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Contains NO Flammable Solvents -100% solids

  • Apply to horizontal or vertical surfaces

  • Effective on interior and exterior surfaces

  • Apply to new and existing concrete and metal surfaces

  • Excellent Chemical resistance

SURFACE PREPERATION: PARSONPOXY SEL-80 may be used as an integral corrosion barrier topcoat over PARSON MH LINER or CA LINER 100, or as a stand alone coating. When used as a topcoat, spray apply within 24 hours or brush between 8 and 24 hours. This unique method of application can dramatically enhance the bond strength between the two materials and virtually eliminate the probability of contamination of the PARSON MH LINER or CA LINER 100 prior to application of the PARSONPOXY SEL-80. If the recommended time frame is exceeded, one of the following procedures must be followed prior to coating application. Reclean the structure using minimum 3500psi waterblast, dry using forced air and either apply denatured alcohol using concrete brush and dry using forced air or apply ½" PARSON MH LINER or CA LINER 100. When used as a stand alone coating, thoroughly clean using minimum 3500psi waterblast. Stop all active leaks. (Please refer to our Manhole Rehabilitation Specifications for product selections). Repair spalled areas, holes, cracks, etc. with PARSON MH LINER, CA LINER 100 or RPM. The surface should be relatively dry prior to application. Remove any condensation that may have formed prior to application. Primers are not normally required.

Steel – Surfaces should be sandblasted to "white metal" (SSPC-10) immediately before application of the protective coating.

MIXING: Thorough mixing is essential. PARSONPOXY SEL-80 is supplied as a two-component, premeasured kit. Mixing ratio is 3 Parts "A" to 1 part "B". Open both Part A and Part B containers. Mix each for approximately 1 minute using a mechanical mixer. Pour the entire contents of Part B into Part A container. Mix for approximately 3-4 minutes until thoroughly blended and a uniform color is achieved.

APPLICATION: PARSONPOXY SEL-80 may be applied with brushes or single-component spray equipment approved by the coating manufacturer. Apply to a thickness up to 80 mils per coat. If additional coats are required to achieve desired thickness, apply when tack-free and up to 12 hours. If maximum recoat time of 12 hours has been exceeded, the coating surface must be sandblasted or grinded to create a profile. Pressure wash to remove residue and dry with towels or forced air. Application temperature range is 40°F and 110°F.

COVERAGE: Approximately 20 Sq. Ft./Gal. @ 80 mils.

CLEAN-UP: Clean equipment and tools immediately after use with MEK or Acetone. Wash hands and skin areas with soap and warm water. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for additional information.

PACKAGING: 4-gallon units – (Components A & B)

STORAGE: Do not freeze. Store in area with temperatures between 60-80°F and with product on pallets. Shelf-life is three years in unopened containers stored as specified.
