and concrete structures against H2S attack. ![]()
ADVANTAGES:
SURFACE PREPERATION: PARSONPOXY SEL-80HB may be applied as an integral corrosion barrier topcoat over PARSON MH LINER or CA LINER 100, or as a stand alone coating. When used as a topcoat, spray apply within 24 hours. If the recommended time frame is exceeded, one of the following procedures must be followed prior to coating application. (1) Reclean the structure using minimum 3500psi waterblast and dry using forced air. (2) Reclean the structure as in (1) and apply ½" of PARSON MH LINER or CA LINER 100. (3) Apply denatured alcohol using concrete brush and dry using forced air. When used as a stand alone coating, thoroughly clean and remove any loose or foreign materials including paints, dirt, oil, grease, surface coatings, laitance and any other bond inhibiting material, using minimum 3500psi waterblast. Stop all active leaks. (Please refer to our Manhole Rehabilitation Specifications for product selections). Repair holes, cracks, etc. with PARSON RPM patching material. Dry surfaces to be coated, using forced air if necessary, prior to application. New or Existing Concrete – The surface must be SSD (Saturated Surface Dry) and free of old coatings, oils, grease, waxes, algae, rubber deposits and other contaminants detrimental to adhesion. Spalls, chuckholes or cracks should be repaired with PARSON MH LINER, CA LINER 100 or RPM. Concrete surfaces can generally be prepared by using minimum 3500 psi water blast cleaning, abrasive blasting, shot blasting or a combination in order to achieve a 2 mil. profile. Steel – Surfaces should be sandblasted to “white metal” (SSPC-10) immediately before application of the protective coating. Remove all surface contaminants of oil, old coatings, waxes and other compounds that may be detrimental to adhesion. SEL-80HB displays excellent adhesion to most substrates; therefore, primers are not normally required. MIXING: PARSONPOXY SEL-80HB is supplied as a two-component system. The A and B components are pumped separately from 55 gallon drums. Mixing occurs at the nozzle of the spray gun. The mixing ratio is 2:1 by volume. APPLICATION: PARSONPOXY SEL-80HB is spray applied using plural component spray equipment approved by the coatings manufacturer. Apply to thicknesses up to 125 mils per coat. If additional coats are required to achieve desired thickness, apply within 30-60 minutes. COVERAGE: Approximately 12.8 Sq. Ft./Gal. @ 125 mils. CLEAN-UP: Remove tip and mixing chambers from spray gun and soak in MEK overnight. Clean tools with MEK immediately. Wash hands and skin with soap and warm water. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for additional information. PACKAGING: 150 gallon units - (Components A & B) Each container shall be clearly marked with the product name and component designation "A" or "B". STORAGE: Do not freeze. Store in area with temperatures between 50-90°F and with product on pallets. Shelf-life is three years in unopened containers stored as specified.
