PARSON
RPM

Rapid set, fiber reinforced patching material
for manhole inverts and other structural repairs

DESCRIPTION:
PARSON RPM is a rapid setting, fiber reinforced, H2S resistant product that is mixed with clean, potable water and used to repair inverts and other deteriorated areas in manholes.

ADVANTAGES:
  • Simple to use - Just add clean,
    potable water

  • Withstand flows in 30 minutes

  • Excellent freeze - thaw resistance

  • High early strengths

  • Non-shrink

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces must be clean and sound before placing PARSON RPM. All incoming flow must be stopped for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Completely clean the area to be repaired with a minimum 3000 psi water blast. Any bond inhibitors such as oil or grease must be removed in a similar manner. Dampen the area to be patched with clean, potable water. The substrate should be saturated surface dry (SSD).

MIXING: Remove a small amount of cement from the original container and place in a shallow mixing tray.  Add clean, potable water to the PARSON RPM until a putty or trowelable consistency is achieved (1 pint water per 5 lbs. powder).  Do not mix more material then can be placed in 10 minutes. Do not add any other cements or aggregates to PARSON RPM. Do not re-temper material.

APPLICATION: Apply only to a clean, sound properly prepared substrate. The surface should be damp (SSD) and the PARSON RPM should be placed immediately after mixing. Place PARSON RPM into invert or areas to be repaired with trowel or gloved hand. For manhole inverts, place approximately ½” of material and smooth with a steel trowel. When repairing other areas, hold material in place until it remains there.

PRECAUTIONS: The setting time of PARSON RPM will very according to ambient and surface temperatures. To hasten set time, use clean heated mixing water. Cool water or ice should be used to prevent extremely rapid set. PARSON RPM will reach its final set in about 30 minutes at 70°F (21°C). Under normal conditions, no special curing is required. Wear protective glasses and rubber gloves. If product is splashed into eyes, wash immediately with clean water and consult a physician.

STORAGE/PACKAGING: Keep PARSON RPM dry and at room temperature. In order to insure long shelf life, keep container tightly sealed. Available in 5 gallon pails containing 50 lbs of material.

COVERAGE:  Approximately 17 cu. inches per lb.        *50 lbs. = 850 cu. inches

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: The cement shall meet the following requirements:
