PARSON
SEALCRETE

Waterproofer for brick, block or concrete, above or below grade

DESCRIPTION:
PARSON SEALCRETE is a polymer modified, powder formulation that is mixed with SEALCRETE LIQUID concentrate. It is applied by brush or spray to waterproof all types of masonry structures and resist both positive and negative hydrostatic pressure. Two coats of PARSON SEALCRETE will withstand negative side water pressure of 7 psi.

ADVANTAGES:
  • Excellent bond strength for superior adhesion
  • Thermal expansion similar to standard concrete
  • Excellent waterproofing properties
  • Cost effective
  • Non-toxic and has no ammonia odor
  • Low labor costs
  • Easy brush-on or spray application

  • Excellent freeze/thaw resistance
  • Resistant to de-icing salts and water
  • Resistant to ultraviolet light
  • Interior or Exterior application
  • Minimum surface preparation
  • No guesswork! Supplied in pre-measured kits

PERFORMANCE DATA:
Freeze/Thaw Resistance (ASTM C 672) - 50 cycles ............ No Scaling
Accelerated Weathering (ASTM G 26)   -  5000 hrs ............. No loss of adhesion
Water Vapor Permeance (ASTM E 96)   - 28 days ................9 perms

SURFACE PREPARATION: Thoroughly clean and remove any loose or foreign materials including paint, dirt, oil, grease, surface coatings, laitance and any other bond-inhibiting material from surface to be treated, using minimum 3000 psi water blast. Cracks should be cut out to a minimum depth and width of 1" and thoroughly cleaned. Patch cracks and holes with PARSON RPM and stop flow of water from active leaks with PARSON QUICK PLUG.

MIXING: PARSON SEALCRETE is supplied in pre-measured kits and should be mixed at the job site. Add the gallon of SEALCRETE LIQUID concentrate to the powder in the pail, plus add up to 1 pint of clean water, if necessary, to reach desired consistency. Mix thoroughly for approximately 2-3 minutes or until a smooth, batter type consistency is obtained. A power paddle mixer and heavy duty slow speed drill (400-600 rpm) is suggested. Let stand for 10-15 minutes prior to application.

APPLICATION: The clean, porous masonry surface should be dampened with clean water immediately prior to application (saturated surface dry (SSD) with no puddled water). Minimum ambient and surface temperature are 50°F (10°C) and rising at the time of the application. (Do not apply to surfaces that may be frozen.)  Weepage or leakage should not be present from the substrate at the time of the application. Apply PARSON SEALCRETE GREY as a heavy uniform coat (approximately 1/8" thick). Do not attempt to brush out completely. Wait 3-4 hours or until first coat is set, prior to applying PARSON SEALCRETE WHITE at a thickness of approximately 1/8". Best results are obtained by nylon, fiber whitewash brush, 6" masonry brush, or approved sprayer. If during application of either coat, the surface dries and causes "pulling" or skipping of the PARSON SEALCRETE, re-dampen wall with water. Do not add any other cements or aggregates to PARSON SEALCRETE. Do not re-temper or add any admixtures. (Clean tools and equipment with water.)

PRECAUTIONS:
  • Surfaces to be coated that have been exposed to the direct rays of the sun, or are warm for any reason, should be cooled first by applying water.
  • If PARSON SEALCRETE coating is drying rapidly due to high temperatures, wind, or very low humidity, finished surface should be cured by water spray.
  • The use of a dust mask, safety goggles and rubber gloves is recommended.
  • In case of contact, flush eyes with water. Wash skin with soap and water. Contact a physician.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store between 50°F (10°C) and 95°F (35°C) in a dry area. Avoid high humidity.
  • The shelf life is one year in the original, unopened container.
PACKAGING: PARSON SEALCRETE is available in 5 gallon pails containing 48 lbs. of powder and one gallon of SEALCRETE LIQUID. (May be packaged separately) PARSON SEALCRETE should be stored in a dry place at room temperatures at low humidity.

COVERAGE:  Initial Coat (Grey) - Approximately 150 sq. ft. per kit
